May I present the town of Dawsburg, a fortified town in the wilds of Thralia.
Thanks to the support of my awesome Patrons I am able to offer it free to all including a version without titles.

Whilst not strong enough to endure a siege for long, the people of Dawsburg are a stout and resolute people who use their own homes to form a defensive wall around their town.
How would you use this map in your world? What threats would the people face?

I'd previously shared a labelled version of this. I had requests for an unlabelled version. Here it is, enjoy - I hope this is more usable in this form.
This version is also now 4k rez thanks to Inkarnate Pro.

I'm supposed to be working, so of course I'm doing this. Not my best work, but I needed a small fortified port town quick. It's supposed to be multi-tiered which is why the cliff icons. wanted to make the castle a third tier but didn't plan ahead enough for space. lower tier is a civilian town, upper is military. water gates are meant to be huge chains that can be raised up and down, but it's not clear from the icons. Those are all standard or 2-min Tabletop, I believe. Please correct if I'm wrong. The map file is below if you want to mess with it:

What’s the best way to attack a town or other fortified position?
Main Post:
I am relatively newer Wargame and Warno player with relatively not that many hours in both / either.
When I play MP my only successes are when I am able to contest the middle points at game start better than my opponent. When I can do a successful ‘bite and hold’ and fortify with infantry and then basically run out the clock.
Where I really struggle is if I am kicked out or defeated from a point, and I need to retake a point. I can’t seem to do a successful offensive.
Tactically speaking what is the best way to do this? Mostly, I usually end up trying rushing in with APC’s to dismount infantry in the closest buildings at the same time as an attack with tanks. I will also usually shell with artillery or do a bombing run at the same time. But usually the APC’s and tanks just die to ATGMs or RPG’s. I feel like I’m fuckin vlad putin just attack moving convoys to their demise. But what to do differently isn’t intuitive to me.
It seems like any unit out in the open just freakin dies. So if I have to push a point that requires movement in the open how do i do it?
I’m sorry if I am asking for a very didactic answer but step by step - how do you capture a fortified town? This is the biggest thing I have a challenge with.

I tend to raze the city to the ground with artillery shells before attacking, so there are no more fortified positions
Do you need to build a fortified base?
Main Post:
I've been playing this game a little bit - I haven't gotten very far (only around 20 days).
When I see videos or screenshots of other people playing they generally build a fortified base of some kind - with stuff like walls, barricaded windows, and destroyed staircases with ropes being the only way to get to the second floor.
But... is this necessary? In my experience you don't get a lot of zombies around your home once you've cleared them out, and certainly no concerted attacks against your base. Curtained windows seem to do just fine to keep the zombies away.
Do the zombies threaten your base later on? Is there any pressing need to fortify your base, or do people just do it for the vibes? Am I in for a nasty surprise at some point if I don't fortify?
Top Comment:
In short no.
There is a helicopter even that happens once and it will attach zombies to your location which can be great if you start walking away from your base.
Muldraugh is pretty hot and it took a long time to make my base safe because it was on the main strip but my new base in Rosewood is like a house in a ghost town.
Once an area is clear your pretty safe. Wish this game had migrating hordes or something.
Noise travels far and you can use guns or a car horn to draw a whole town of Z into a filed or forest outside of town.
